All Albby jewelry items are made of 925 sterling silver, a metal made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other materials (no nickel), and is a standard material used in high quality jewelry (versus, brass or copper). Sterling silver is water resistant and does not rust, tarnish or turn your skin green. Fine silver or pure silver is 99.9% silver, it is generally too soft for use as jewelry or for everyday applications, other metals are added to make it more resilient and stable.

V E R ME I L

All Albby yellow gold jewelry are made of vermeil, meaning they have sterling silver as their base material and are plated in 14 or 18 karat real gold that is at least 2.5 microns thick for increased durability.

If you like gold tone jewelry but have sensitive skin and prone to metal allergies, vermeil with a base metal of sterling silver has a high purity level than other base metals such as copper and brass, makes this the perfect choice if you want the look of gold at a fraction of the price of 14k or 18k gold.

To ensure that your vermeil jewelry lasts for many years to come, we recommend following our jewelry care guidelines. If the gold does eventually fade, we offer a re-plating service to restore the item back to its former glory.

For our standard range, we use AAAAA (5A) cubic zirconia, which is considered the very best. It is also considered the ultimate diamond alternative with many of the same qualities. Our AAAAA CZ are hand-cut by our artisans and have the luminosity of real diamonds.
